DIPLOMA OPTIONS
SUPERINTENDENT'S DIPLOMA OF DISTINCTION
Beginning with the 2005-2006 school year, students who apply for and successfully complete the Superintendent’s Diploma of Distinction program shall be eligible for a differentiated diploma. The Superintendent’s Diploma of Distinction will be awarded based on the following criteria:
1. In addition to meeting all requirements for a standard diploma, students must successfully complete four (4) Advanced
Placement courses to include at least two (2) subject areas and score 3 or higher on at least three (3) Advanced Placement
exams.
2. Maintain a 3.0 or higher cumulative weighted grade point average and a 3.0 weighted grade point average in Advanced
Placement courses.
3. Complete 100 hours of community service.
4. Participate in ACT or SAT during Junior and Senior years. The second year test may be waived with an appropriate ACT or
SAT score as determined by the Director of K-12 Curriculum and Program Accountability.

ACCELERATED DIPLOMA
Accelerated College Credit Designation will be awarded to students who qualify based on the following criteria:
1. Completion of four or more accelerated college credit courses in Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate,
Advanced International Certificate of Education, or dual enrollment if the student is eligible for college credit pursuant to
sections 1007.27 or 1007.271, Florida Statutes;
2. Students in AP, IB, or AICE courses must complete the courses and pas the exams at the level indicated in the Articulation
Coordinating Committee Credit-by-Exam Equivalencies list (available from the Department's web site at
http://www.fldoe.org/articulation/pdf/ACC-CBE.pdf). Students in dual enrollment courses must complete the course with a
grade of C or better.

18-CREDIT COLLEGE PREPARATORY AND 18-CREDIT CAREER PREPARATORY DIPLOMA OPTIONS
1. A student shall submit to the high school principal and school counselor a signed parental consent to enter the 3-year
accelerated graduation program.
2. A student shall have achieved at least an FCAT reading achievement level of 3, an FCAT mathematics achievement level of
3, and an FCAT writing score of 3, on the most recent assessments taken by the student.
3. If, at the end of grade 10, a student is not on track to meet the credit, assessment, or grade-point-average requirements of
the accelerated graduation option selected, the school shall notify the student and the parent of the following:
(a) The requirements that the student is not currently making.
(b) The specific performance necessary in grade 11 for the student to meet the accelerated graduation requirements.
(c) The right of the student to change to the 4-year program.
4. A student who selected one of the accelerated 3-year graduation options shall automatically move to the 4-year program, if
the student:
(a) Exercises his or her right to change to the 4-year program;
(b) Fails to earn 5 credits by the end of grade 9 or fails to earn 11 credits by the end of grade 10;
(c) Does not achieve a score of 3 or higher on the grade 10 FCAT Writing assessment; or
(d) By the end of grade 11, does not meet the 3.0 GPA or FCAT graduation requirements.
