Important Information for Parents
Pinnacle
Your student will bring home a parent information letter on Monday, September 12th. This letter details log-in instructions, as well as user names and passwords. The letter will be distributed during 7th period. Pinnacle is an excellent tool for monitoring your student's academic progress.
Lunches
Our cafeteria offers lots of nutritious meals and a la cart items. We encourage students to breakfast and/or lunch in the cafeteria or bring their lunches from home. Sometimes, students forget to bring their lunches and their parents need to bring the lunch to school. Please take the lunch to the attendance office in the main office. You will need to notify your student when they tell you they forgot their lunch that you are bringing their lunch and that the need to check in the attendance office to get it. We can not send for the student to give them the lunch.
Checking out your student
There are several ways to check out your student if your student needs to leave during the school day. The best way is to send a note with your student. Tell your student to take the note to the attendance office before school, where your student will receive the check out pass and can leave at the appointed time. Another option is for you to call the attendance office and leave a message that you need to check your student out at a certain time for a certain reason. Please leave detailed information in your message. The messages are checked constantly all day long. Please call in ample time to send for your student since students are not always in classrooms (they may be in media center, computer labs, etc.). If you student knows that he/she is being checked out, he/she can check in the attendance office between classes for the check out pass. We appreciate your patience. It is always best to remind your student that they are leaving early and have them get their check out pass before they need to leave.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that check-out requests or messages received the last 30-minutes of the day will reach the student in time. There will not be any check-outs the last 20-minutes of the day.
Free & Reduced Meal Applications
Don't forget to apply for free or reduced prices meals. It is very easy to apply online now. And the best part is that you get a response within 24 hours instead of a week or two. If you don't have a access to a computer, stop by the school and we will let you one of ours to apply.

Interactive Calendar
New Smyrna Beach High School is proud to have an interactive Cuda Calendar (a hyperlink is under the Activities Section of this website). Please be sure to register so that you can get email notices when events are added, changed or deleted from the calendar. You can specify which events you are most interested in so that you would only be notified for those events.
